Happy 1st Birthday, Carter!

I can't believe it was a year ago that this beautiful baby boy entered this world. I've never seen twelve months go by so quickly. Carter is such a happy, sweet, and loving child. He is walking all over the place, especially on the heels of his big brother.

To celebrate Carter's special day, we had a birthday party/cookout with all of his grandparents.


Carter's favorite present was this riding firetruck, picked out and given to him by Aslan. Aslan gave Carter a quick rundown of all the buttons and knobs and then they were off! Just like on the road when a real firetruck is on its way to a rescue, we all cleared the way as Aslan and Carter raced back and forth from the kitchen to the den.

Carter's party had a baseball theme, of course! Notice the blue and orange icing! Bobby has always made Aslan a special birthday cake and did the same for Carter. What you can't see is that there were two layers to his baseball cake. One layer was blue, the other orange. Funny thing, the night before the party when Bobby made the cake, Aslan was using the food coloring bottles as "stabilizers" for his truck. When Carter opened that present (another present picked out by Aslan, a truck, for reasons we all know), out rolled those food coloring bottles!

Then There Were Two

With Carter's addition to our family, I struggled keeping up Aslan's blog without any postings of Carter. Bobby had the great idea of turning it into more of a family blog. Hence, Kristin's ABC's- Aslan, Bobby, Carter! If there's a third child somewhere in our future, not sure what I'll do then. Maybe name that child Beauregard! For now, enjoy catching up with our family.
