Batter Up

Today was the day Bobby has waited for ever since we found out Aslan was a boy. We signed him up for Fall Tee Ball, and all of his equipment arrived today! You'd have thought it was Christmas. He tore through boxes, uncovering a bat, gloves, a tee, a bucket, and a dozen balls. Even though Aslan had already had his bath, he insisted he go to the front yard to try it all out. Bobby gave him a few important pointers and away he went.

And So It Begins...

It was a good summer; however, all good things must come to an end. Today was the first day of school for all of us. I was excited to see my coworkers and meet the new teachers at Trinity. Aslan was excited to see all his friends. And Carter...we thought, would just go with the flow. Turns out, he missed summer and being home most of all. His day was filled with endless tears. I know that smile and happy disposition will return soon. And for Bobby, it was...Monday!

As I say every year, I can't believe summer flew as fast as it did, and a new school year has rolled around. This will be a very special year for Aslan, as it is his last year at Holly Tree and preschool for that matter. It won't be too long before another summer has come and gone, and we're waving to the big yellow cheese as it rolls down the street.
